ASSOCIATES

Today many people are searching for a more meaningful spiritual life and for a way to live out that commitment while leading active lives in the world. As Associates of the Community of the Transfiguration, men and women lay and ordained are offered the opportunity to participate in the spiritual life of the Community without leaving their work or their own places in life.

They are committed Christians who write and keep a rule-of-life suited to their situation. Associates are an integral part of the Community and share in its ministry of service and prayer. When possible they support the Community with volunteer assistance or financial gifts. They may always ask for intercessions and for spiritual guidance from members of the Community and are always welcome at any houses of the Community.

Associates are part of our extended family throughout the United States and in many parts of the world.

OBLATES

Oblates are Christian women and men lay or ordained whose vocation is to live a form of the religious life in relationship with a monastic or religious community. Oblates of the Community of the Transfiguration make a significant self-offering to God in partnership with the Sisters. Each Oblate prayerfully works out his or her particular way of living their self-offering in consultation with the Sister responsible for Oblates. Their self-offering includes a life of prayer (liturgical, intercessory and contemplative) and service through the Community. As they live out their religious vocation within their own contexts, they witness to the love of Christ and to the value of the religious life.

The lives of prayer and ministry of the Oblates help to create wonderfully interwoven gifts. The love and support between Oblates and Sisters, the mutual support among the Oblates and the expansion of the charism and ministry of the Community of the Transfiguration in parts of the world where the Oblates live reflect the essential mutuality of the Body of Christ.

There are Oblate and Oblate Candidates of the living with the Community in Cincinnati, as well as in Florida, Kentucky and California
