Be Our Guest
In the spirit of Kindness, Simplicity and Joy hospitality has always been a significant ministry at all houses of the Community. Guests are welcomed to share in the worship and life of the Sisters. Some guests come for a time of quiet away from their lives in the world. Some come for a private retreat while others come with a group for a retreat or meeting. All are welcome in the name of Christ to a peaceful place apart to rest, reflect and pray.
Transfiguration Spirituality Center
People gather to learn, exchange ideas and to share in friendship, worship or simply to be alone with God. The Convent grounds offer many opportunities to appreciate God's creation at all seasons of the year. Whether a guest is here for an overnight, group retreat or an extended stay, we pray that God's gracious love will create a transfiguring atmosphere of peace, renewal and healing.
In 2010 the hospitality ministry at the Mother House was expanded when St. Mary's building, formerly St. Mary's Nursing Home, was renovated to become a 24 bed guest facility. St. Mary's can sleep 21 in private rooms, 24 when the 3 double rooms are in use. All rooms have private baths. There are two conference rooms, two spiritual direction rooms and three dining rooms. Outside there are two patio areas with seating for guests. St. Mary's Chapel offers a space for worship for those staying at TSC.
BethAnna Cottage is also used for groups and can sleep 17. The downstairs has four bedrooms, one with a private bath, and a shared bath for the other three. Upstairs there there are 13 rooms with two shared baths. BethAnna has a comfortable living room with working fireplace, full kitchen and a dining room that seats 12. Groups that want to do their own cooking often use BethAnna.
