About the Company

The Community of the Transfiguration is a 125-year-old community of Episcopalian Sisters, headquartered on a beautiful 23-acre campus in Glendale Village, just north of Cincinnati, Ohio. They sponsor the following ministries: Bethany School (K – 8), Food for the Soul food rescue and kitchen, the Transfiguration Spirituality Center retreat and accommodations ministry, St. Monica’s Recreation Center in Lincoln Heights, and the Transfiguration Nature Preserve in Bat Cave, NC.

About the Role

The housekeeper is responsible for the careful, sanitary and thorough cleaning of the common areas, living quarters, kitchens, bathrooms, porches and offices in buildings on the Convent grounds.

The housekeeper reports to the Housekeeping Manager through the chain of command. Housekeepers also respond to the Sisters’ direct requests.


  • Following Job Task list as assigned 

  • Maintaining appropriate stock and/or notifying supervisor of needed items

  • Following protocols for disinfecting areas throughout the grounds 

  • Stripping and remaking of beds and placing dirty linens in appropriate containers 

  • Removing and washing dishes in common areas or guests’ rooms 

  • Assisting in laundry as needed 

  • Alerts supervisor immediately of any safety concerns 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks as necessary to provide excellent and timely customer service 

  • Commitment to working independently or in teams with reliability and accountability 

  • Professional and respectful communication with the team, guests, the Sisters or other internal customers 

  • Access to reliable transportation 

  • Demonstrate flexibility and desire to serve internal and external customers 

  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend English 

Education and Experience 

  • High School diploma preferred 

  • 1 year housekeeping experience preferred

Estimated salary/compensation and benefits:

$16.50 hourly
